Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

An in community program when more help is needed than counseling alone.

What is IOP?

Our Intensive Outpatient Program is a Medicaid program to assist individuals with:

  • depression

  • anxiety

  • personality disorders

  • other mental heath concerns such as emotional or behavior difficulties

Programs are a step-up from weekly counseling when something more is needed, or a step down program for those coming out of hospital settings.

Participants benefit from the structure of intensive therapy multiple times a week, while being able to remain at home and be part of the community during treatment.

Participants should be able to commit to a 6-12 week program meeting a minimum of 3 times a week.

Our adolescent program is for teens ages 13-17.

What does it look like for me?

Participants usually spend most of the day going through their normal routines:

  • school

  • work

  • family activities

Participants arrive at IOP and participate in group and individual therapies and may also participate in classes and other treatment related to their mental health.

Certain patients may also participate in family sessions with their loved ones.

Program Outcomes

  • Skills training about crisis management, life skills, emotional regulation, resiliency, motivation. acceptance and communication

  • Reduction in symptoms of anxiety, depression, traumas

  • Learn about DBT, CBT, and solution focused problem-solving skills to manage symptoms

  • Learn treatment approaches that include holistic treatment and family approaches if desired

  • Identify skills to improve and self-maintain mental wellness
