Teen Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Comprehensive Care for Adolescent Mental Health
At Turning Point Center for Change, we recognize that teens face unique challenges that can significantly impact their mental health and well-being. Our Teen Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed to provide focused, comprehensive care for adolescents ages 13-17 who need more support than weekly counseling can offer while allowing them to maintain their daily routines and community connections.
Understanding
Our Teen IOPOur Teen Intensive Outpatient Program is a Medicaid-approved service that offers structured, intensive therapy multiple times a week. This program is ideal for teens struggling with:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Personality disorders
- Other mental health concerns such as emotional or behavioral difficulties
The IOP serves as either a step-up from weekly counseling when more intensive care is needed or as a step-down program for teens transitioning from hospital settings. This approach allows participants to receive the benefits of intensive therapy while remaining at home and engaged in their community during treatment.
Program Structure and Commitment
Our Teen IOP is designed to provide comprehensive care while allowing flexibility for school and family life:
- Program duration: 6-12 weeks
- Minimum attendance: 3 times per week
- Age range: 13-17 years old
- Daily Schedule: Participants maintain their normal routines (school, family activities) and attend IOP sessions in addition
During IOP sessions, teens participate in:
- Group therapy
- Individual therapy
